Samir Chaturvedi, KIZAD CEO, and Göran Eriksson, GAC Abu Dhabi’s Managing Director, sign the agreement.

GAC has set up a warehouse and open yard in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), the Middle East’s largest.

The new GAC Abu Dhabi facility serves a range of sectors including oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, FMCG, household effects, and specialist equipment. GAC has been in Abu Dhabi since 1967 and today has facilities at Sila, Ruwais, Mussafah, Mina Zayed and Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Major hub

“GAC has been actively serving ship owners and operators at Khalifa Port for many years,” says Samir Chaturvedi, KIZAD CEO. “Abu Dhabi is increasingly becoming a global hub for logistics and shipping and so it is only natural that a player of GAC’s scale and reputation would be looking to expand its presence in the Emirate.

“A firm such as GAC needs excellent connectivity by road, sea and air, as well as flexibility to accommodate its growing warehouse needs, all of which they have found at KIZAD, and we are looking forward to helping them expand their business in Abu Dhabi even more.”

“Khalifa Port is an essential gateway to Abu Dhabi. Setting up operations at KIZAD gives us the advantage of being close to the state-of-the-art port, enabling greater operational efficiency for both GAC and our customers.”
Göran Eriksson, Managing Director of GAC Abu Dhabi
