GAC Sri Lanka is the only ship agent to be recognised in the first National Logistics and Transport Excellence Awards organised by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Sri Lanka (CILT).
“We are proud to be a major stakeholder in the transport and logistics industry of Sri Lanka, contributing to the economy and the growth of the industry with our range of shipping and logistics services,” says Managing Director Mahesh Kurukulasuriya. “I would like to thank the entire GAC Sri Lanka team and partners, the McLarens Group, for the part each has played in this achievement.”
The company handled almost 7,000 shipping, marine and logistics jobs in 2017. It is the country’s leading ship agent with a market share of around 30%, a pioneer of ship supply services off Galle port limits and sole provider of ship-to-ship transfer services in Sri Lanka.
Work on one of Sri Lanka's biggest integrated distribution facilities is currently underway. The project by Spectra Logistics, a joint venture between GAC Logistics Sri Lanka and Hemas Transportation, will be equipped for container handling, repairs, washing and rigging.
